Mountain Lodges of Peru - The Lesser Known Inca Trail

Mountain Lodges of Peru just released rates for 2010 and there are lots of incentives for early bookings. If you book before December 31, 2009, you will obtain special rates from now until April 15, 2010 (note that the lodges are closed in January and February).

For fixed departures, the second guest sharing a room pays only $1500.00, and the third guest $1000.00, as well as no charge for single supplement (if available). And special group departures will receive a 20% discount on published rates.

Mountain Lodges of Peru takes guests on an ancient trail called the "Salkantay Route", going from lodge to lodge in the Cordillera Vilcabamba, a spectacular Andean mountain range which cradles the famed Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

Within Mountain Lodges of Peru's lodge system, the crown jewel is the Salkantay Lodge & Adventure Resort, located in the high Andean Valley of Soraypampa at 12,705 feet above sea level. The 6N/7D program is all inclusive from Cuzco (some restrictions apply).

Great Video from Peru!!

In March PanAmerican Travel Services escorted a group of graduate students to Peru. They performed service projects in a small town called Huilloq, located just outside the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and conquered the famous Inca Trail. Check out the from the trip! Many thanks to Andrew Taylor, the PanAmerican agent who traveled with the group and put together the video.
